Breckenridge Election Day set for May 1

The May 1 election is just around the corner with the City Commissioners unopposed and the Stevens Memorial Hospital Board At-Large positions unopposed. BISD is the only election for residents.

In the Breckenridge ISD is the only local entity to hold an election, which will be in the BISD School Administration office on Saturday, May 1 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Ballot will include:

* Place 1 - BISD Board President, Graham Reaugh, is unopposed.

* Place 2 - Incumbent Paul Lippe is challenged by Jimmy McKay

*Place 7 - Chad Townson and Tammy Wimberley-Anderson are challenging Place 7 vacated by Ardes Johnson when he resigned.

In the City Commissioners positions (Place 3) David Wimberley and (Place 4) Tom Cyprian - did not file for re-election.

*Place 3 - Vince Moore is the only one who filed for this position.

*Place 4 - Gary Mercer is the only one who filed for this position

Both will automatically be elected to those positions without opposition.

The SMH Board of Directors had three At-Large positions up for election. Tom Echols, Kaylee Curtis and Gregg Goodall were unopposed in their re-election bids. As a result, they will be automatically re-elected without opposition.
