Breckenridge has thriving month, up 13.08% for the year
While the state of Texas experienced 0.7 percent increase in local sales tax allocations for February, Breckenridge can celebrate another month after exceeding last year’s dollars by 16.88%.
Breckenridge will receive a check of $204,821.91, an improved local sales tax by $29,589.64. Year-to-Date Breckenridge received $347,592.14, up 13.08% for the year.
According to Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar ,Texas cities, overall, saw an increase by 2.4% YTD. Transits are down 1.4%; Counties are down 3.3%; special purpose taxing district up 6%. These allocations are based on sales made in December by businesses that report tax monthly; October, November and December sales by quarterly filers; and 2020 sales by businesses that report tax annually. Total Payments YTD: $1,189,624,893.28; Total Prior Year Payment YTD: $1,161,449,380.15; Percent Change: 2.43%
Albany took a slight dip from this time last year by 3.29%. They will see payment of $47,291.01. For the year, Albany received $78,840.37, down 8.37%.
Woodson had another increase in sales tax revenue by 20.86%. They will receive a Net payment of $1,273.57. Last year, Woodson received $1,896.42 compared to this year of $3,643.01. That is an increase of 92.10%.
