Wed, 10/14/2020 - 5:00 am

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $751.5 million in local sales tax allocations for October, 2.8 percent less than in October 2019. These allocations are based on sales made in August by businesses that report tax monthly.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to weigh on the Texas economy and sales tax revenue.

Breckenridge received a net payment of $138,039.52, only 2.94 percent less than this time last year. Year-to-date Breckenridge is fairing well at 4.24 percent better than last year at $1,514,626.01 compared to $1,452,909.80 last year.

Albany took another slight dip this month by 3.06 percent. They will receive $33,738.96 this period. Albany economy has fallen a little more than other communes by a negative 14.84 percent year-to-date. They have collected net payments of $381,915.86 year-to-date.

Woodson, though a small economy, has been doing quite well this year, so far. They collected a net payment $1,668.89 which is 179.89 percent better than this time last year. There is no mistake in the print of that number, nearly 180 percent better. Year-to-date Woodson has collected a net payment of $10,034.14 which is $3.933.71 better than last year, or 64.48 percent.
