An ordinance that would limit where sexual offenders can live within the city was passed at the Breckenridge City Commissioners’ monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 5.

The ordinance went through its first reading in their February meeting, but due to the fine it would impose, was required to have two separate readings. The meeting on Tuesday acted as its second reading.

Also at the meeting, the commissioners awarded a contract for the Texas Department of Transportation’s U.S. Highway 183 north sewer project. The apparent low bidder was Fambro Construction, Inc., according to the agenda’s background material. The total base bid for the project was $1.385 million.
