As an ongoing effort to seek input from city residents regarding the operations and future of the city of Breckenridge, a survey is being conducted to receive feedback through May.
The survey can be accessed at surveymonkey.com/r/MNCV3BD and is open through Friday, May 1.
Since 2022, the city has conducted a survey of residents to receive input on how the city is performing, with the last survey available in April 2025.
“In the Fall of 2022, the city of Breckenridge developed an interactive strategic plan including a vision and mission statement, core values, and a list of goals and objectives for the city,” the city stated in the survey. “Since then, we have used that Strategic Plan to prioritize our budget. We have made significant progress”
Improvements noted by the city since fall 2022 are street improvements, water and sewer improvements, park improvements, increased employee pay, increased online communication and more.
The goals developed from previous community input include investing in infrastructure, employees, beautifying the city, promoting economic development and tourism as well as transparency and communication.
The 18-question survey asks questions such as how long the respondent has lived in the city, their age group, if they have children under the age of 18 and how they find out about city services.
Six questions on the survey ask the respondent to provide a five-star rating scale from poor to excellent regarding the quality of city services since the last survey.
The services that can be rated are Breckenridge Police Department, Animal Control, Breckenridge Fire Department, Public Services Department, Public Works Department and the Developmental Services Department.
Respondents can rank in order of importance the following items: water infrastructure, wastewater infrastructure, streets, city facilities, park amenities, drainage and substandard buildings.
The survey also asks community members to rate how important it is for the city to tackle beautification through code enforcement and addressing substandard structures.
Respondents can also address how often they attend city commission meetings, if they are aware of commission meetings being livestreamed and how often they watch the livestream or archived recordings of those meetings.
The final two questions are short answer and ask the respondents to provide if they feel the city is doing well and what it needs to work on.
The mission of the city in its Strategic Plan is to provide higher quality of life through positive community relationships that value citizens, welcome visitors and invite business growth through innovation, education and safety.
