County experiences severe flooding

Stephens County called an emergency meeting Tuesday, June 1 after widespread flooding impacted the Stephens County area due to heavy rainfall causing Lake Daniel and area creeks and tanks to overflow.

On Monday, May 31, County Judge Michael Roach issued a disaster declaration for the county, due to the flooding that had affected roads, bridges, homes and businesses. Judge Roach requested assistance from Texas Governor Greg Abbott to aid the county with the damage caused by the flooding.
