DAR announces Good Citizen Award winners

The Daughters of the American Revolution announced their Good Citizens Award for a few local high schools, according to an announcement from the DAR.

Lisa Echols of Lee’s Legion Chapter announced the winners, who were recognized in the DAR’s Jan. 9 meeting. The winners are:

• Kelton Wylie from Breckenridge High chool

• Clint Petree from Cisco

High chool

• Curry Russell Pendleton

from oran High chool

• Jullian Rene Guinn from

Albany High chool

Wylie from Breckenridge was also chosen as Breckenridge High chools “tudent of the emester,” which was announced at Breckenridge IVGÏs o vember school board meeting.

ach student received 50 in cash, a DAR pin and a DAR certificate.

The DAR was created in 1934 and was created to encourage and reward good citizenship, according to the statement. The award recognizes individuals who possess several qualities, such as dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. The students are selected by the school councilors and administration.
