E-Z Stop robbed over weekend, police investigating

The E-Z Stop convenient store off Walker Street was robbed last Friday night, with the culprits making off with money and cigarettes, according to police officials. Nobody was hurt in the exchange.

The suspects robbed the convenient store around 11:50 p.m. at gun point. Chief of Police Larry Mahan said they have been investigating the incident since the weekend, but have had trouble getting any traction in the investigation.

The police on Wednesday got their hands on video, but it comes days after the incident. Mahan said they are reviewing the video they have, as well as looking too see if they can find any other surveillance video from around the area.

“It’s tough to get video sometimes,” Mahan said. “And I don’t know why.”

The investigation is ongoing.
