Health fair this weekend

The annual Stephens County Health Fair will be held this Saturday, Oct. 22 from 7 to 11 a.m. The event will be held at First Baptist Church of Breckenridge, at 301 S. Rose St.

Over 40 vendors are expected to be in attendance, including booths from different departments within the hospital. Also in attendance will be representatives for local home health companies as well as hospice.

This season’s flu shots will be available at the health fair for $20. For those seeking no-cost blood testing, individuals will be given an envelope to provide their address in order to receive their results by mail.

Stephens Memorial Hos- pital will be sponsoring free lab tests including glucose, creatine, sodium, potassium, CO2 Chloride, cholesterol, LDL, Triglyceride, HDL, CBC, PSA (for men over 40) and Hgb A1C (three month blood sugar average).

Those wishing to have lab tests performed are asked to abstain from eating or drinking anything after midnight Friday, Oct. 21, with the exception of water, plain coffee or plain tea.
