In the March Republican Primary elections, incumbents in both Stephens County contested races were able to hold onto their seats.
Incumbent Stephens County Clerk Jackie Ensey won another term, garnering 1,084 votes, or 71.6% of the vote. Opponent D’Jean Thompson had 429 votes, or 28.4% of the vote.
In the Stephens County Treasurer’s race, incumbent Sharon Trigg also won another term, defeating Nicole Cantrell, 911 votes (62.1%) to 557 votes (37.9%).
State Representative for District 60 incumbent Glenn Rogers carried the county, winning 1,105 votes (74.9%), over his three opponents. As of 10 p.m. Tuesday, Rogers was ahead with 74.3% of the vote throughout the district.
Phil King, republican candidate for State Senator in newly drawn District 10, won the county with 79.3% (1,052) of the vote, over opponent Warren V. Norred (275 votes). As of 10 p.m. Tuesday, King was ahead with 77.8% of the vote throughout the district.
Jay Johnson, incumbent for District 15 State Board of Education, was narrowly defeated in the county by opponent Aaron Kinsey, 584 votes (51.4%) to 553 votes (48.6%). As of 10 p.m. Tuesday, Johnson was ahead overall throughout the district.
All 10 propositions passed in the county.
