Iowa Park woman killed in two-vehicle wreck on Hwy. 67

An individual was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday, May 15, and has been identified as Mercedes Elaine Fulton, of Iowa Park. The wreck occurred on State Highway 67, three miles north of Breckenridge.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, “Fulton, a 26-year-old, was driving north on SH 67 while a 2019 Chevrolet pickup was traveling south. Fulton’s vehicle was traveling on the wrong side of the road. As the vehicles approached each other, the 2019 Chevy pickup veered left into the northbound lane to avoid Fulton’s vehicle. The 2016 Chevy then veered right to return to the northbound where the head-on crash occurred. Fulton was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.”

The second individual was identified as Jacob Aaron Herring, of Breckenridge. Herring was transported to Stephens Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition with non-incapacitating injuries.

The head-on collision is currently under investigation.
