Local exhibitors shine at San Angelo Stock Show

Stephens County exhibitors turned in impressive performances at the San Angelo Stock show this month, earning top marks across several heifer and swine divisions.

The show once again showcased the hard work and preparation of local 4-H and FFA Members.

Stephens County 4-H had major successes in the Heifer show. Kinsley Kaylor was named Grand Champion in the Angus division of the Junior Heifer show. Another first place finish was Brooklynde Sage Parker, in the ORB division.

In the Limousin division, Isabelle Biddision placed fourth, adding another strong finish for local competitors.

Breckenridge FFA shined in the multiple swine shows. In the Stars Gilt show, Tristan Diaz delivered one of the best finishes of the show, placing second in Yorkshire. Tristan also finished in third place in the Breeding Gilt Show.

Local exhibitors continued their success in the Stars Gilt Show, where several students earned top-10 placings in large statewide classes. Addison Kinder finished in third place in the Landrace division, Carter Carrion earned fifth place in the 
All Other Cross division.

Top 10 FFA finishers were Cooper Carrion, who finished in eight place in the Chester division and Zane Diaz with a ninth place finish in the Poland division. 

Ag teachers praised the exhibitors in their dedication, noting that San Angelo is one of the toughest shows of the spring major season. The results reflect months of feeding, training and daily commitment from the students.

“We are very proud of all of our kids,” program leaders said. “We had a good representation.”
