McComis settles into new position

Tue, 09/07/2021 - 5:52 pm

After the 17-month search for a new city manager ended in July with the hiring of Erika McComis, she has officially started in her position in Breckenridge. Through her new role, she hopes to collaborate with other community entities, build citizen connections and settle into the new place she calls home.

The city of Breckenridge held a meet and greet event last Tuesday to welcome McComis. She steps into her position as city manager after serving as the assistant town administrator in Argyle, a position she held since May 2020.

“Before I even applied for the position, I came and drove through town, and just as I entered it, it just felt like home,” McComis said. “I love the feel of it, how it looked, I would drive and people would wave to me (...) It felt like home, and it felt welcoming.”

McComis said that she is enthusiastic to work with the current city employees, who she said are knowledgeable and care about the community. She is prepared to start the hard work on the city infrastructure, but added that does not come easy.
