A long-awaited new concession stand will soon rise at Buckaroo Stadium, thanks to a partnership between Breckenridge FFA, the booster club and a local contractor.

The Breckenridge ISD board unanimously approved the project during its meeting Monday, Sept. 8, marking a milestone for community members who advocated for the upgrade over the past few years.

Josh Patterson, of Rockin P Construction LLC, was in attendance to answer questions and share preliminary design details. Patterson presented the board with a design showing the stand’s placement on the southeast end of the stadium.

“It’d be freestanding; the only thing that’d be attached would be some flashing going up behind there to extend it,” Patterson said.

It was clarified that the final design will feature green and white colors, not the red and black seen in the iron framing of the draft rendering.

“It’s not going to be chunky and thick like that,” Patterson clarified.

Board Member Paul Lippe credited Patterson with the work on the draft rendering and work he has done in the past.

“That’s a heck of a job, I’ve seen a little bit of your work,” Lippe said.

Following discussion, a motion to approve the construction was made and seconded. With no opposition, the motion passed unanimously.

The new concession stand is expected to enhance the game-day experience for students, families and fans, while reflecting the collaborative spirit of Breckenridge’s school and civic community.
