Breckenridge High School held graduation ceremonies for the 93 students in the Class of 2022 on Friday, May 27 in the Breckenridge ISD Athletics and Fine Arts Center.
The Class of 2022 Valedictorian is Jaylen Harper and the Salutatorian is Liberty Vandergriff.
BHS Principal Christopher Hancock introduced district administrators, as well as the board of trustees. He also announced students who graduated in the top 10% of the class, which included Alexander Fuson, Jaylen Harper, Austin Hill, Peyton McPhail, Royce McPhail III, Rylan Sims, Aimee Toliver, Liberty Vandergriff, and Elizabeth Woodward.
During the valedictorian’s speech, Harper encouraged his fellow classmates to get out of Breckenridge to travel, but to never remember where they came from.
Harper also thanked his teachers for helping him throughout his school years in Breckenridge. He went on to thank his parents, his two brothers, and friends.
BISD Superintendent Bryan Allen asked the students to move their tassels on their graduation caps.
Diplomas were then handed to each graduating senior by BISD board of trustees member Graham Reaugh.
