Breckenridge High School student/athlete Gerardo Palacios has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Schreiner University.

The student/ athlete decided during a gathering with friends, family, and members of the community inside the Fine Arts Building foyer on Tuesday, June 23.

“I committed to Schreiner University as I felt it was a good school and fit for me,” Gerardo Palacios said. “It’s not too far so my parents can watch me play and it’s a Christian school. My parents and I want me to be the best Christian I can be. Schreiner was the first university to reach out to me so they had an advantage. The university has a great physical therapy program and that’s what I will be pursuing.”

The all-around athlete received 1st-Team All-District and All-Big Country 2nd Team honors from the past basketball season and plans to play in the middle infield on the Schreiner University baseball team.

Palacios is excited for the next journey in his life and the move to college.
