(Photo/Alex Kielar) The Pride of Breckenridge of Band performed at the 3A Area B Marching Band Contest in Denton and placed 17th out of 24 bands Saturday, Nov. 1.
The Pride of Breckenridge Band traveled to C.H. Collins Stadium in Denton for the 3A Area B marching band contest and ultimately fell short of advancing to the finals, placing 17th in the preliminary round out of 24 schools.
The contest took place Saturday, Nov. 1 which the Breckenridge band advanced to after receiving a Division 1 rating at the UIL Region 7 marching contest Saturday, Oct. 18 in Stephenville.
The bands got five separate scores–three music scores and two visual scores. Breckenridge scored 21 on music 1, 20 on music 2, 13 on music 3, 17 on visual 1 and 13 on visual 2 for the overall rank of 17.
The top 10 teams in the preliminary round advanced to the finals. The top four teams in the area finals then advanced to the state contest.

The Breckenridge band will perform its lights out glow show during halftime of the Buckaroos game against TLCA Friday, Nov. 7, which is also Senior Night.
