Property tax statements have been sent

Stephens County Tax Office - The 2020 property tax statements containing taxes due for Stephens County, Breckenridge Independent School District, the City of Breckenridge, and Stephens Memorial Hospital District were scheduled to be mailed out on Tuesday, October 13.

Anyone who did not receive their statement within a reasonable amount of time will need to notify the Tax Office. When the statements are received, check them carefully. It is the taxpayer’s responsibility to be sure that all of the property owned in Stephens County is represented on the statement(s). The deadline to pay these taxes without penalty and interest is Jan. 31, 2021.

To pay property taxes online, go to www.co.stephens.tx.us and navigate to County Offices, and then Tax Assessor-Collector. Then click on the link at the bottom of that page.
