A contractor with the Texas Department of Transportation will be performing routine maintenance on and under the US 180 bridge over Hubbard Creek Reservoir over the next two weeks.
Work was scheduled to begin Wednesday, March 4 with work being completed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day for an estimated two weeks, weather permitting. During the maintenance there will be single-lane closures to ensure a safe work area for personnel and equipment.
“Motorists are asked to use caution, obey all warning signs, avoid distractions, and watch for crews and equipment in and near the work zone,” TxDOT stated in a release.
At the end of 2024, TxDOT conducted an emergency inspection which deemed the bridge unsafe for travel.
The department held closures each night on the bridge during that time in an effort to clean and seal bridge joints as part of continuing maintenance work. The work was being done as preventative maintenance to extend the life of the bridge.
