Air pilots will have another reason and benefit flying to Breckenridge after Stephens County Commissioners Court met on Jan. 25.
Stephens County made a contract with Wing-Points in order pilots can accrue points while refueling.
County Judge Michael Roach said, “WingPoints is part of Phillips 66 Aviation and Phillips 66 is the leading brand with aviation fuel. WingPoints is a bonus program to allow folks to accrue points from the county which helps drive traffic to our airport.”
Every time travelers use their WingPoints Rewards Card at participating WingPoints locations, they earn double points for that purchase. Members can earn products or a night on the town.
The County completed the project of laying a low pressure, three inch natural gas pipeline across CR 125 and CR 136 with very little impact to travelers.
There was a 2009 John Deere 672D motor grader that was recently destroyed in a fire. The County has it open for sealed bids.
“There are some locals who have the ability to rebuild those,” said Judge Roach. “Bids are still open.”
There is also a sealed bid to purchase a new or used motor grader in the same class as the John Deere 672D.
The Burn Ban is off and will be reevaluated on Monday Feb. 8. For anyone who is considering burning, call the Breckenridge Fire Department to check in prior to burning, as a courtesy. They can be reached at 254-559-6242.
