Hostesses were Maurice Turner, Chair; Barbara Trammell, Co-Chair; Maretta Wulfjen, Ruth Taylor, Fran Sims, Elizabeth Power, Lorene Calkins, Nancy Morales, and Julie Calkins. They were all dressed as scarecrows and decorated the tables with scarecrows and colorful fall accents. The meal was catered by The Water Store. The program was given by Heather Schkade (above) on the Breckenridge Library. Schkade gave an informative program highlighting resources the library provides for the community, including children’s programs, six public access computers and an online eBook program that is free to patrons. Schkade, who has been the director for six years, shared the history of the library, showed pictures from the children’s summer programs and explained how to utilize eBooks. This fall, the Woman’s Forum community service donations are going towards the library to help provide additional children’s programs.
