SCHS hosting annual fundraiser 5K, Fun Run

The annual Wags and Whiskers 5k and Furry Fun Run/Walk will be held Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Breckenridge City Park, located at 601 E. Walker.

All proceeds from the fundraiser go to the Stephens County Humane Society, helping to cover costs of food, housing, medical care and transport expenses for lost and unwanted animals of Breckenridge and Stephens County.

The 5K race begins at 9 a.m., with the fun run following at 9:15 a.m. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome to run or walk along with registered participants.

Registration is available online at runraceday. com or by messaging the Wags & Whiskers 5K and Furry Fun Run page on Facebook. Pre- registration fees for the 5K run are $30 per person age 18 and older, and $20 for participants age 17 or younger.

Fees for the fun run are $15 for all ages. If registering the day of the race, prices increase by $5. Only entries submitted prior to Tuesday, Nov. 15 are guaranteed to receive a t-shirt for their participation.

Divisions will be split between men and women and by age, as follows: 12 and under, 13-17, 1829, 30-39, 40-49, 5059, 60-69 and 70+.

Medals will be awarded for the 5K run will be awarded to the top three finishing participants in each division and to the top overall man and woman.
