We have Caroled at the Courthouse. We have toured homes. But, you still have a chance to sing. There is a Community Christmas Eve Service to be held at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Woodson. Come and share this beautiful celebration of the eve of Christ’s birth. Everyone is welcome.

And, the Elementary Christmas Program is this Thursday at 6 p.m. Come sing along (there will be cookies).

Happy Anniversary to Resa and Dale Deaton. Happy 38th Anniversary to Tacy and Mark Ellis. Basketball is underway. All home games last week and this week.

We were saddened and panicked to hear that Peyton “Pie” Brown was severely injured in a “hitand-run” accident but he is doing well. Pray for his complete healing as he undergoes the required surgeries, pray for his family, including grandma, Joy Brown.

Curtis Owen and Sissy Atkinson lost Gwen, his sister and her mother, respectively. In Throckmorton, Mary Gene Chandler left us, as did Bob Neely. Our heartfelt love, compassion, and prayers go out to the families of these individuals in their time of grief. We are all here, when you need us; we share your loss.

Abner, our family dog, is still missing.

School will dismiss on Dec. 21 for the holidays, and it will resume on Jan. 8, after the county stock show.

Mayor Mathiews other than sincere continued wishes for our health, happiness and well-being during this holiday season, had “no comment.” Don’t tell him, but I think that was a pretty good comment.

Sing. Come to the Community Christmas Eve Service. Sing. Get up in the morning and sing.
