The Sloan Everett Memorial Bike Ride was held at the Breckenridge City Park on Saturday, Oct. 17, and featured a host of bike riders to the memorial event. Despite the COVID-19 virus, the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce moved forward with this year’s event and should be deemed a success.

The event offered four new scenic routes throughout Stephens and Young Counties, including the addition of a 100k route.

This year’s event went to benefit local volunteer fire departments. In 2019, the Pure Country Pedal raised a total of $13,136.20, allowing donations of $4,378.73 each to the Caddo, Hubbard Creek, and Wayland volunteer fire departments. These volunteers play an invaluable role in protecting lives and property and put themselves in harm’s way without necessary resources.
