The Stephens Memorial Hospital Foundation is hosting a benefit run next month to provide hospital medical equipment and scholarships for Breckenridge High School seniors.
The SMH Color Burst is a 5K run held Saturday, May 30 at 200 S Geneva St. in Breckenridge. The run will not be timed and is a minimally competitive event where runners will be hit with colored powder as they run their route.
Registration will open at 7:30 a.m., the 1K Fun Run will start at 8 a.m. and the 5K run will begin at 8:30 a.m. Each event starts on time and participants must show up on time to participate.
Registration and packet pickup will be at the SMH dining room from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 29 and at the hospital from 7:30 a.m. to the start of the race May 30.
Registration for the 5K run is $32.07 and is open to all ages. Participants who are in 6th grade and below must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 5 years old can accompany an adult participant at no cost.
The 1K run registration fee is $16.55 and is open to children in first through fifth grade.
Registration for the 5K and 1K includes a running bib and one packet of color powder to be used at the finish line celebration. Registration for either run before Thursday, April 30 guarantees a T-shirt.
