Teen killed in one-vehicle rollover

Thu, 12/23/2021 - 9:10 am

A teen died following a one-vehicle wreck which occurred early Tuesday morning approximately eight miles north of Breckenridge.

According to a Texas Department of Public Safety release, at approximately 7:13 a.m., Brendin Granado, 19, was traveling north on FM 578 in a 2007 Jeep Liberty, when his vehicle partly entered the right barrow ditch.

The vehicle then struck a guardrail, before rolling over several times.

Granado, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

DPS is currently investigating the crash.

A GoFundMe page was set up by Kristy Noble, Granado’s aunt, to help raise funds for funeral expenses. The goal of $3,000 had been surpassed by $945, as of Monday morning.

According to the page, Granado was traveling to work the morning of the wreck. His uncle, Daniel, went searching for Granado when he did not show up to the jobsite.

The page also states Granado and his fiance, Zoey, were expecting a daughter, due in February.

“Brendin was a young spirited man who was ready to take on the world. Brendin and his fiancé Zoey were excited to be having a baby. They were finally going to be the family they had always wanted to be,” the page description states.

Memorial services for Granado were held last weekend.
