United Fund reaches 73 percent

The United Fund finished out 2019 with a big leap forward on their goal of $18,000, due in part to the participation of First National Bank employees and a $2,315 donation.

Participating employees included: Alondra Rincon, Angela Langford, Anna Easter, Anna Castro, Brenda Deubler, Cindy Spencer, Connie Wooten, Terry Parks, Jenae Trejo, Jennifer Herrington, Jonathan Newton, Joyce Toland, Kasey Ragle, Kristie Ethridge, Laura Davila, Lisa Lockhart, Mary Lou Briseno, Pam Richardson, Renee Funderburg, Samantha Pesch, Samantha Thurman, Sarah Shockley, Sharon Pendleton, Sharron Brown, Sonia Likes, Tina Robinson, Will Thompson, Jessica Arellano and FNB President, Kevin Simmons.

In addition to the substantial donation, several other donations came in at the end of the year to make the total of $13,233.63, which represents 73% of the overall goal of $18,000.

The following local non-profit organizations benefit from the United Fund: Meals-on-Wheels, Swenson Memorial Museum, Breckenridge Fine Arts Center, All His Children, Boy Scout Troop #63, Cub Scout Troop #81, Girl Scout Troop #8356, Breckenridge Little League, Breckenridge Library, Friends of Historic Breckenridge (FOHB), Dr. Goodall’s House, Stephens County Ag and Community Center, Stephens County Humane Society, The Open Door, Stephens County Child Welfare Board, School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) and Breckenridge Youth Soccer.

Donations received in November and December included: Kelly McColm, BASA Resources, Mickie Bearden, Glenn and Christie Coapland, David Duggan, GLOC Simulation, Cassie Griffith, Helen Haddock, Scott and Linda Harris, T.C. Harris, Hometown Brand Center, Knights of Columbus, Bruce McClymond, Mark and Kathy McCullough, Burrell and Dana McKelvain, Morehart Mortuary, Ron and Marci Reed, Rotary Club of Breckenridge, Bob and Lin Sims, Chaunce Thompson, Gary Trammel, Warehouse Feed and Whealy Enterprises LLC (McDonald’s).

Donations in January came from Sammie Blades, Neal and Jean Edwards, James Shelton, Stephens Memorial Hospital and Patrick Thompson.

The United Fund now has a webpage at unitedfundbreckenridge.org. Community members and potential donators may look at what is happening with the United Fund or make a donation. The United Fund also is capable of taking donations from a credit card with a Square Card Reader.
