Unofficial March primary results released for Stephens County

State and local voting in the March Republican and Democratic Party primaries ended Tuesday, March 5.  While Stephens County had no local contested primaries, Stephens County had a total of 1,767, or 30.68% of total registered voters cast their votes.

The most notable contested election was for the District 60 State Representative seat with Mike Olcott challenging incumbent Glenn Rodgers. Rogers emerged victorious in the Republican primary in Stephens County with 886 votes. Olcott received 783 votes in the county. District 60 is made up of Stephens, Palo Pinto and Parker Counties. Phil King, the Republican incumbent in the District 10 seat of the State Senate will meet Democrat Andy Morris in November after both ran unopposed in their respective primaries.

The following primary results for the Republican and Democratic Party primaries are taken from Stephens County Elections Administrator and are unofficial results. Official results will be available at a later date, pending certification and canvassing by Stephens County. These are the results for Stephens County only.
