The weather projected this week for Breckenridge will mark the first of cool weather after a hot summer. While rain is projected to continue all week, until Saturday, the weather will remain chilly for most of the week. Monday and Tuesday both saw highs in the mid-40s, with the temperature being just below 40 degrees Fahrenheit at noon on Monday. The temperature will be a little warmer Wednesday, and by the end of the week will be consistently in the mid-60s.

Flooding has been occurring in certain parts of the area since last week. While as a whole, the area did not get a ton of rain accumulation, certain lakes and creeks are close to overflowing. On Saturday, nearly 2.5 inches of rain fell. The rain is not expected to let up, as projections from Weather Underground show a predicted nearly three inches of rain for the rest of the week. The Breckenridge American will monitor weather throughout the week and keep our readers posted on certain weather events, as well as any changes to the forecast.
