  • The Woodson News: Hear that hum?

We hum at church behind a mask instead of singing. The blower hums on cattle at shows. The tools hum as we near the end of our never-ending, 4-year renovation. The traffic on the highway hums by… and so does time.

Let’s just celebrate! If you’re afraid to sing out loud, just hum some happy birthday tunes! February birthdays include: Gay Hibbitts, my sweet Sarah Ellis, 7th grader Jaycee Bordelon, Paul Thurn, Michelle Mathiews, WHS Sr Braedon Mendoza, Amber Boland, Arliss Willingham, and Gunner Oliver! Happy Birthday to You!!!

Basketball must be over, as there were no games listed on the calendar.

Stock show season moves forward with the San Angelo show. Claire Ellis participated in the Junior Public Speaking contest. Savanna Sullivan participated in the Senior Public Speaking contest, making it to the 15 finalists of the 55 senior speakers who entered. Kylie Deaton earned another blue ribbon with her metal gate she entered in the Ag Mech contest! And, Hanna Miller, Kiki Buse and Landon Buse showed their market goats.

Sheep showed the beginning of the week. This weekend, the heifers and hogs will be shown. Results to follow.
