Last week, not much was heard about the 79th anniversary of Pearl Harbor… “a day that will live in infamy.” The day was clouded by viruses, vaccines, elections… honor will only live in infamy, should we decide to remember. I will remember. I choose to honor the men and women who have served our country and the world. I am thankful to live in a country bought for me by the lives of these men and women. I will not take their lives for granted, not on December 7, or on any other day. Thank you, veterans.
It’s the end of the semester. Monday and Tuesday were the end of the six weeks. Today and Thursday are exam days. Good luck to all the students.
School will be out from Thursday, Dec. 17, at 4:12 p.m. until Jan. 5 for students. Teachers will return on Jan. 4 for their first workday of the spring semester.
It will be busy with the selection of cast and crew for the high school one act play, basketball, track, academic UIL, not to mention a little classwork.
Stock show will be January 8 and 9. Weigh in will be the eighth. The show and sale will be the ninth. Come on out to watch if you can.
If you would like to send an end of year donation to the show, please send donations stock show donations to TCJLS, c/o Tacy Ellis, 427 S US Hwy 183, Woodson, 76491, or contact Margaret Mathiews, an Ag teacher, a county agent, or a show board member. Thank you to everyone who has sent so far.
Cow Country Christmas in Throckmorton was fun.
The Tour of Homes in Woodson was lovely. Proceeds went to the backpack program.
The Christmas lights have been judged! Results next week.
UIL for the JH is complete and results are being tallied. Should be in by next week.
The JH Cowgirls lost to Throckmorton on Thursday last week, but the JH Cowboys won.

Hopefully the 3rd Grade Garden will survive the frosts. They have cool season crops planted and I hear the kids all like cauliflower! If the gardens do freeze, it is okay because there is ground to prepare for the spring plantings! If you’d like to be a garden sponsor, give the office a call.
The tree is decorated. The lights are up. We play Christmas music. We have begun making cookies. The elves are on the move. Presents are ready to wrap. Santa has been summoned. Hopefully our hearts are full of the real reason for the season. Blessings as you prepare for your Christmas celebrations.
See you next week!
