Woodson welcomes hunters

Thu, 10/21/2021 - 5:15 pm
Luncheon to be held Nov. 6

This hunting season, the town of Woodson will be hosting a luncheon to welcome hunters to the community. The cost of the meal is a donation and all proceeds will go to the rebuilding and restoration of the Woodson Community Center.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, in front of the Woodson Town Hall (Masonic Lodge building) on Hwy. 183 N, in the middle of Woodson.

Lunch will consist of pulled pork sandwiches, homemade potato salad, coleslaw, homemade desserts, and iced tea. There will also be giveaways during the event, so attendees are encouraged to bring their dollar bills for chances to win good prizes during the event.

Just as hunting has always been a part of Woodson, the community center stood proud and was utilized for more than 50 years. Time has taken its toll on the landmark where memories of school dances, weddings, homecomings, family gatherings, softball games, and 4th of July celebrations, were made.

It’s time to tear down and rebuild, so that new memories can be made, through new double doors, that open to a new and better, much needed meeting place for the community.

The town is seeking help to enrich the community, not only for its residents, but for all who visit Woodson.

So, come on by and eat! Eat in, eat outside, or take it home. The Woodson 4th of July Committee welcomes you to join them for lunch.
