Gasoline prices increase
Texas gas prices have risen 6.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.76/g today, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Gas prices in Texas are 16.5 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand $1.21/g higher than a year ago.

BHS grad makes MSU President’s honor roll
Elizabeth Reyes, of Breckenridge, qualified for the President’s Honor Roll at Midwestern State University for the spring semester. She is majoring in Applied Arts and Sciences.
Top grads announced for BHS Class of 2021
Breckenridge High School principal, William Paul, announces the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2021. The Valedictorian is Jonas Israel Arellano, with a 4.31 GPA. He plans to go to the University of Texas and major in Economics.
Dolley Madison speaks to Lee’s Legion of DAR
Deborah Moran made an appearance at the recent Lee’s Legion Daughters of the American Republic (DAR) as Dolley Payne Todd Madison. Moran is well known for her portrayal of Benjamin Franklin and other Fore Fathers.
United Fund working to hit donations goal
The Breckenridge United Fund continues to collect donations to increase the amount donated in Stephens County to 78% of the goal of $18,000.
BHS State Forage Judging team excels
Breckenridge High School sent a team of four FFA students to Austin to compete in the State Forage Judging competition. The BHS students placed third in Area and won District and were named Pecan Valley District Champions. The FFA team included Sydney Garland, Jackson Woodward, Kason Knight and Rylan Sims. BHS Ag teacher, Austin Hanna, accompanied the students along with Kay Meadows.

BHS sends seven for Symphonic Band
After all the auditions were concluded, the Breckenridge High School Band had seven members to send to the Association of Texas Small Schools Band (ATSSB), Symphonic Band at a Region 7 Concert, at Texas State University (TSU) in San Marcos, on Saturday, May 1.
