Judge Michael Roach will lead a candlelight ceremony at 5:30 p.m. April 29 on the Stephens County Courthouse steps. Notice the changed time. This is to honor the 20 Foster children that reside in Stephens County. The public is cordially invited to stand up for our children.

Jack Eddleman, local 12 year-old angler caught this healthy big mouth bass April 18. The fish measured 19.5 inches long and weighed five pounds. Eddleman grinned with pride displaying his catch from Lake Leon.

It is sad, but hopefully, everyone understands that Bud and Pam Harrison have served Breckenridge dutifully for more than 38 years through the doors of Pam’s Cafe, a recognized Breckenridge landmark by anyone’s standards. They took over about three months after the previous owner, Mrs. J.C. ‘Ethel’ Nail, had died. Ethel had run Nail’s cafe for almost 40 years, from about 1931 to 1973.

Controlling your world when all about you are non-functioning

For most of us, our coffee tables and end tables, the arms of our chairs, or the floor around and under most furniture is cluttered with not one, but several remote controls. Most of them are black, around six or seven inches long, and about as wide as the palm of a human hand. They fit comfortably in our hands so easily that we end up carrying them into another room, carrying them to the car with us, or maybe even dropping them in the garbage with that stack of mail from the afore mentioned chairs, tables, and floor.

FFA will be the judge of that
