Forum hears youth spearheading TMCN project

An ambitious group of three seniors at Breckenridge High School has taken on a new project at the Breckenridge Park through the Texas Midwest Community Network. The three youth include Caroline Turner, Kayla Wood and Thomas Hamilton.

While severe winter storms brought in snow, freezing rain and bitter temperatures it brought most of Texas to a halt. According to the United States Postal Service website the Texas mail processing plants temporarily suspended mail processing operations due to power outages. TxDOT offers opportunity to comment on planned intersection realignment project FM 3099

The Texas Department of Transportation is offering an opportunity to comment on a proposed project to improve a portion of FM 3099 and its intersection with US highway 180. Project limits include a portion of FM 3099, from Northglen Road to 0.2 miles south of US 180 in Breckenridge, along with the intersection at US 180 in Stephens County, Texas. The public may provide comments to TxDOT through March 24 as part of the environmental review process for this project. The purpose of the 0.826-mile project is to improve safety at this intersection.

Gas prices sees largest weekly climb

Texas gas prices have risen 11.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.31/g today, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Gas prices in Texas are 21.3 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 13.9 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.
