Sheriff's office arrests man in connection with elderly assault

The Stephens County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Fort Worth man due to a suspected assault of an elderly man, according to a complaint filed.

Delvin Eugene Aaron, 57 of Fort Worth, Texas was arrested by Deputy Wayne McMullin on Jan. 5 in connection with a complaint filed regarding the assault of an elderly person. The arrest stems from an altercation between Aaron and the elderly man, in reference to the latter’s grandchildren riding four-wheelers near a line of fence that connects the two properties.

• Joshua Paul Armstrong, 33, was arrested by Officer John Butler for public intoxication.

Tuesday, Jan. 8

• James Daniel Vickers, 44, was arrested by Officer Kirby Brown on a Stephens County warrant for injury to a child/elderly/disabled criminal negligence. His bond was set at $25,000. The suspect was transported to Stephens County jail and booked without incident.

Correction

In the previous edition of the Breckenridge American, some information we gave regarding the new firetruck acquired by the Breckenridge Fire Department was incorrect.

In our story on the city commissioners meeting, we stated the department obtained their new pumper by selling one of their Class A firetrucks and paid $10,000 in the difference for their new one, along with $54,777 for the equipment that would come with it.

Stephens Memorial Hospital unveils nuclear lab

The Stephens County Memorial Hospital unveiled their new Nuclear Medicine Lab Thursday afternoon with a couple representatives on hand to explain the benefits of the technology.

Nuclear Medicine Specialist Ambar Paranjape and Regional Vice President James Avery for Heart Care answered questions for those stopping by to see the new facility. Paranjape said the differences between this and other tests, such as an x-ray, are stark.
