The Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking nominations for board members for their 2023 Board of Directors.
While gas prices nationwide dropped below $4 per gallon average last week, the state boasts the lowest prices in the country at an average of $3.49 — 50 cents below the national average, according to AAA Texas.
Average gasoline prices in Texas have fallen 9.1 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.41/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Prices in Texas are 64.2 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 56.8 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has declined 14.8 cents in the last week and stands at $5.27 per gallon.
Breckenridge ISD began installing its new scoreboard last week, just in time for the 2022 Buckaroos football season. The scoreboard was approved by the BISD school board earlier this year.
The Breckenridge City Commission approved the hiring of a new city manager last week.
Breckenridge City Commissioner Greg Akers has resigned, according to an email sent last Wednesday, Aug. 10.
The city of Breckenridge will see another increase in sales tax returns this month from the same period a year prior. These allocations are based on sales made in June by businesses that report tax monthly and on sales made in April, May and June by quarterly filers.
