FFA Contest attracts students from across state

Around 200 FFA students from 40 school districts, some as far away as Houston, converged on Turner Seed south of Breckenridge Monday to participate in a pre-state wildlife judging contest hosted by the Breckenridge FFA Alumni Association.

The students participated in two judging contest, one in the morning and one in the afternoon to practice for the upcoming state competition according to Justin Hopkins, Breckenridge High School Agricultural Science Instructor and FFA Advisor.

In addition to the local FFA students who participated in Monday’s judging event, It has been a busy few weeks for the BHS FFA students.

Several students recently competed in a series of contest at the state and area level with more contest still to come.
