Our angel has left us way too soon, Ashton Jones, age 17 of Breckenridge, died Dec. 1, 2017. A reflection of her precious life was held, Tuesday, December 5, at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Charles West and J.C. Burt officiated. Interment will follow in Necessity Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 4 at Morehart Mortuary.

Born Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2000, in San Antonio, Ashton Elizabeth Jones blessed her parents and their family by coming into this world. She grew up in San Antonio her first 6 years, and lived a happy 5 years in the Chula Vista, Calif. after that.

The remainder of her short life was lived in Breckenridge, where she grew up to be a beautiful young lady. Ashton enjoyed track and volley ball during her junior high years and was happy being on the yearbook committee. She was a big Buckaroo fan. Ashton was a senior in high school and excited about graduation. She wanted to go to college to become an interior designer.

Ashton had a heart of gold, she was the rainbow in the storm, she was the calm in the wind.

She loved her sister Hailey even though they fought like cats and dogs. Hailey was her confidante and was her partner in crime. Ashton loved animals and rescued as many as we would let her. She would stop in the middle of the road just to save a turtle. Ashton is the one that showed compassion to whomever needed it and she was the support for those that were hurting. She was unselfish and always worried about everybody else’s well being. Ashton was a member of Necessity Baptist Church.

Already here on earth she was a warrior of God, but now she is needed upstairs.

Ashton touched many lives and will continue to do so from above.

She was preceded in death by her boyfriend, Ben Davis; grandfather, Michael Jones; and great-grandmother, Opal Cox.

Ashton is survived by her mother, Silvia Jones of Breckenridge; father, Dustin Jones of Breckenridge; sisters, Hailey Jones, Sabrina Gay, and Koi Diaz; grandparents, Artie and Jim Mitchell; great-grandmother Frances Jones; aunts and uncles: Mike and Michelle Davis and their two sons Lane and Cole Davis of Breckenridge,; Heath and Cheryl Mitchell of Godley,; Sabine and Don Williams of Green Bay, Wisc.; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.
