Breckenridge man pleads guilty to sexual assault of two minors, agrees to 50-year sentence

Eric Beauchamp, 29, of Breckenridge, pleaded guilty to the charges involving the sexual assault of two minors and agreed to a 50-year prison sentence last Thursday, Feb. 15, in the 90th Judicial Courtroom at the Stephens County Courthouse, according to a recent press release by the Stephens County Sheriff's Office.

The plea agreement with District Attorney Dee Peavy's office stemmed from a SCSO investigation that was originally opened in August 2017, when the SCSO first learned of the accusations claiming Beauchamp had sexually assaulted a juvenile. Beauchamp was later interviewed by the SCSO, where he confessed to sexually assaulting two juveniles during three separate time periods. As the result of the investigation, Beauchamp was arrested for warrants on two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of sexual assault of a child. He was indicted by a grandy jury later in 2017.

Stephens County Sheriff Will Holt said in the press release he "is proud of the team effort by the SCSO and Prosecutor Dee Peavy's office."
