Gwen Hawley, 87, of Breckenridge, was born Aug. 10,1931 and died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 in Fort Worth in hospice care. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5 at First Christian Church, Breckenridge.

Gwen was the loving wife of Tom Hawley for 63 years at the time of his death in March 2014. She was the last survivor of nine siblings. She is survived by her three adult children, seven grandchildren, and three and a half great-grandchildren.

She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church, Breckenridge and First Christian Church, Wichita Falls. Gwen was a dedicated contributor and volunteer to her church, her bridge club, Meals on Wheels, The Garden Club and the Woman's Forum.  Gwen was known as a kind, loving and sweet woman who never knew a stranger and always had a story to tell. An avid TCU fan, she was known for having “purple blood.”
