Friday, Sept. 7

• All remaining Breckenridge ISD 2018 season football tickets tickets go on sale to the general public from 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. at the School Administration building, 208 N. Miller St. However, no ticket sales will take place on Monday, Sept. 3, which is Labor Day. For questions, contact Sandy Rogers, ticket sales coordinator, at 254-522-9600, ext. 6012 or ext. 6010.

Saturday, Sept. 8

• The 2018 Johnny Bates Memorial Scholarship Golf Scramble will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Breckenridge Country Club, located at 4111 W. Walker St. The 18-hole event will cost $100 per two person team. Participants will receive a golf towel and lunch will be provided. The proceeds from this even will begging to the Breckenridge Class of 2019. This will have a 100% payout, along with door prizes as well as longest drive and closest to the pin contests. Monday, Sept. 10

• The Picketville Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will meet Monday, Sept. 10 at “Pendleton Fellowship hall,” St. Paul United Methodist Church. Mugs & Muffins at 10 a.m., program at 10:30 a.m. about “The Cradle.” For more information, contact 254-559-3030.

Sept. 11-13

• Breckenridge Elementary schools are hosting a grandparents day. North elementary will be Sept. 11, South will be Sept. 12, East will be Sept. 13. The menu will be barbeque sandwiches, chips, baked beans and a fruit cocktail. Price per meal is $5.

Monday, Sept. 17

• The second annual Buckeroo Bunco Bonanza, that will benefit the Stephens Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, will begin at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17 at the Chandelier Ridge Event Venue, located at 5470 HWY 183 S. Entry per person is $25 and tables of 12 may be reserved. Drinks and a nacho bar will be provided. Each person with the most Buncos from each table, most wins and least wins will win the prize. Tickets for benefit drawing are $5 each. The is a $500 gift card from United Supermarket. Doors will open at 5:30 to review rules. Saturday, Sept. 22

• The local Cub Scout Pack No. 81 and Boy Scout Troop No. 63 will be helping at the “Hooked On Scouting Team Bass Tournament,” slated for Saturday, Sept. 22 at at the Bob Clark Landing at Hubbard Creek Lake. Check-in time is 5 a.m., with the tournament to begin by 6 a.m. or at safe light. Weigh-in time is set for 2 p.m. and the awards ceremony is set for 3 p.m. Participants can register online at TexasTrailsBSA.com , which has sponsorship levels and entry fee information.
