Barbara Pierce, age 79 of Breckenridge, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 9 at Morehart Mortuary chapel with the Reverend Michael Roach officiating. Interment followed in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, March 8 at Morehart Mortuary.

Barbara Antassie Sanders was born May 24, 1941 in Frankell, Texas to Orval Sanders and Edna Harrison Sanders. On Nov. 26, 1975, she married Jerry Wayne Pierce in Breckenridge. She worked as a waitress for over 40 years. Barbara was very crafty and could make anything. In her free time, she enjoyed painting and crocheting and was also known to make the best fudge. She never met a stranger and loved George Jones. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry Pierce; one son, Ron Shirley; one brother, Orval Ardyce Sanders; one granddaughter, Carla Baxley Gann; one son-in-law, Gary Boyd.

Barbara is survived by her three children, Teresa Boyd, Carol Quiroz and husband Pilar, Brad Shirley and wife Missy; one brother, Billy Sanders and wife Linda; three sisters, Wynell Wilson, Wilma Evans and husband Danny, Nancy Elder and husband David; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
