Carol Begeman, age 79 of Breckenridge, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 9 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Genoa Goad and Pastor Andy Rodgers officiating. Interment followed in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Carol Jeanette McDaniel was born February 9, 1942 in Electra, Texas to parents Otis Bowden McDaniel and Doris Jean Hawkins. On November 29, 1958, Carol married Troy Begeman in Electra. She was a member of the Electra High School class of 1959. Carol worked at Baxley’s Furniture in Breckenridge for several years until she and Troy moved to Utah in 1978. While in Utah, she worked for Thiokol until her retirement in 1992. In 2011, the Begeman’s moved back to Breckenridge to be closer to family. Carol was a member of First Baptist Church and has been active in Sunday school for many years. She taught Sunday school and Bible school classes in Utah and was an active member of the Cornerstone Sunday School class at First Baptist Church in Breckenridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Doris McDaniel.

She is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Troy Begeman of Breckenridge; four children, Terri Atkinson and husband Les, Steve Begeman and wife Jan, Deanna Post and husband Mickey, all of Breckenridge, Jeanna Roderick and husband Curtis of Hyrum, Utah; two grandsons that she raised from the time they were small, Joshua Jenson, Keifer Jenson; one sister, Linda Youree of Castle Rock, Colorado; one brother, Kenny McDaniel and wife Lee of Sun River, Oregon; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and one more on the way.
