Charlotte Lee ‘Penny’ Blancq

Charlotte Lee ‘Penny’ Blancq of Breckenridge died on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at the age of 77, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Anson, from diabetic complications.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents; O.A. and Doris L. (Brown) Rial, and a sister, Marcella Ann Rial.

Penny is survived by her husband of 45 and a half years, James ‘Jim’ V. Blancq of Breckenridge and five children who include: Michael J. Blancq, Debra M. (Donald) Hegwood, all of Abilene, Donald D. (Mary Lou) Ball of Smithville, Tenn., Darla L. (Nicky) Mercer of Anson and Bonnie L. (Shane) Boyd of Hamilton, Mo.

There are 17 grandchildren and they include: Marcella A. (Daniel) Shadix of Douglasville, Ga., Katie S. Mercer of Millingrton, Tenn., James L. (Sarah) Martin of Clyde, James D. (Rachel) Ball of Elmwood, Tenn., Amber Ball of Paris, Tenn., Kelsey M. Hegwood of Abilene, Mara D. (Alex) Nelson of Amarillo, Hannah Ball of Erin, Tenn. Tanner Hegwood of Abilene, Raven Blancq of Abilene, James R. Mercer of Sparta, Miss., Robbye E. (Russell) Stewart of Leuders, Casey (Joe) Abers and Samuel Boyd, all of Albuquerque, N.M., Tawney Blancq of Abilene, Jessica (Nathan) Nixon of Smithville, Tenn. and Marla L. (Rick) Brown of Cordova, Tenn.

In addition, there are 26 great-grandchildren.

A small family memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, March 5, at the New Life Restoration Church in Breckenridge.
