Clyde Edward Hailey

Clyde Edward Hailey, born in Graham, on Feb. 17, 1938, and died Friday, Aug. 5. He was married to the former Patsy Mixon, of Graham.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Henry Hailey and Minnie Loyce Davis Hailey; by brothers, Bill Hailey, and Thomas Hailey; sister, Mary Hailey Brian; two nieces; and a nephew.

He attended Breckenridge High School and Tarleton State University. He served ten years in the United State Navy (Naval Air) and was a retired business owner.

He was long active in civic and charitable work with Junior Chamber of Commerce, Optimist Club and Kiwanis International, American Red Cross, Texas Baptist Men, Boys Baseball and was founding co-chairman of a Boys Club in South Texas.

He served on numerous boards for more than fifty years and received numerous awards and accolades for his philanthropic work. He was very active in church work, various capacities including mission work, youth work, and as a deacon. At the time of his death, he was a deacon at Oak View Baptist Church in Irving, Texas.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Kevin Hailey and wife Kim of Red Oak, Jon Hailey and wife Shannon of Plano, and Patrick Hailey and wife Jodie of Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. He is also survived by granddaughters, Katherine, Abigail, and Madison Hailey; two grandsons, Sgt. Nick Hailey (United states Army) and Henry Arthur Hailey; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at South Prairie Cemetery in Stephens County.
