Douglas B Powers

Douglas B. Powers, 71, of Breckenridge, passed away Sunday, Sept. 29 at his home with his wife by his side. He lost his fight to cancer. He chose to be cremated and a service will be held at a later date in Oklahoma in the spring. Douglas B. Powers was born June 20, 1953 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma to parents Albert Hugh Powers and Orvilla Maye Powers. On May 29, 1971, he married Sherri Lee Foss in Sheridan, Wyoming. He worked in the oil field. They moved to Colony, Oklahoma where they started their family. They then moved to Freer, Texas before moving to Breckenridge in May 1992.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Orvilla Powers; brother, Fred Powers and wife Norma; and sister, Julia Powers.

Doug is survived by his wife, Sherri Powers; son, Davy Powers; daughter, Mandi Wright and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Brittnee, Chase, and MaKayla Wright, all of Breckenridge, Tyler and wife Kaytie and great-granddaughters, Zaelynn and Layken Sharp, of Ranger, and Kevin Jr. and wife Chelci Wright and great-grandson on the way, of Buffalo Gap; sister, Alberta Davis and husband Clyde, of Bay City; and numerous nephews and a niece. A special thanks to Solaris Hospice for the care given the last few months of his life.
