Fay Hope Parks
Fay Hope Parks, age 98, passed away in Ohio on Monday, Feb. 8, 2021. Her funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, in the Chapel of Memories at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. The family will have a 30-minute visitation beginning at 1 p.m. the day of the service. Her interment will be at the Necessity Cemetery following the funeral service.
Fay was born on Oct. 30, 1922, in Breckenridge, Texas, to the late Ellis and Willie (Sullivan) Hope. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1940. Early in life she worked at a corner grocery store in Breckenridge where she met her husband, Ted, who she married in 1950. They moved to Snyder and Fay became a member of the Home Demonstration Club. They eventually left Texas when Ted was offered a job in Palm Springs, Calif. Fay fell in love with Palm Springs. They had many friends there who they would go on adventures and fly as a group in their private planes to various places including Alaska.
Upon retiring, Fay and Ted went back to Breckenridge where they got in the cattle business. Fay was a good cook, loved flower gardening, and always had a beautiful yard. She also enjoyed entertaining family and friends at her home. Fay was raised Baptist and her faith was extremely important to her.
In addition to her parents, Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; grandson, Corey Moore; older sisters, Elsie McMurray and Kathleen Fambrough; triplet brother, Ray Hope; and triplet sister, May Ball. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Vicki (Rick) McClelland and Janie (Bob) Foulk; grandchildren, Wyatt (Angela) Chadwick, Brett Chadwick, Cheri (Rob) Finley, and Clayton (Tara) Moore; great grandchildren, Craig, Hannah, Kayla and Tyler Finley, James and Luke Moore.
