It is with great sadness that the family of Herschel “Joe” Reger announce his passing after a long battle with congestive heart failure, on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020, at age 71.

Joe Reger was born Aug. 27, 1949 to Fred and Clodell Reger in Graham, Texas.

Joe attended school in Woodson and made many life long friends there. He lived his adult life in Breckenridge and started his own construction business. Joe’s family and friends knew him to be a hard-working, kind-hearted man, with an amazing sense of humor. He was a great story and joke teller and could almost always make anyone laugh. Although he did have respect for all those he knew and around him, he lived his life almost in the same way he died, by his own rules. He enjoyed hunting, fishing including fresh and saltwater, and spending time with his family. Joe’s talent for building and welding was immeasurable. Joe will be missed dearly by his many close friends and especially his family.

He leaves behind his wife Annette Reger, his daughter Stephanie Reger-Decker and husband Dusty, his son Derek Reger and wife Ashley. His grandchildren Amanda, Ashley, Kylie, Kaydence, Alissa, Presley, Kaleigh, Rhyder, and Avery, Great-grandchildren William, Jackson, Kasen, Landen, and Aiden. Sisters Dessa Reger-Griffiths, Freda Reger, Cecil Reger-Davis, Brenda Reger-Dunlap, and brother-in-law Rocky Dunlap, and Leona Reger, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Clodell Reger and his brother Roy Reger
