Larry Glenn Sumpter, 69, died Saturday, July 10. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 26 at Veteran’s Cemetery in Abilene, TX.

Larry was born December 27, 1951. He fought for the United States in the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver later in life and held a love of flea markets, handling horses and picnics.

He is survived by his wife Amy Sumpter; five children, Allen Sumpter and Timmy Sumpter, both of Okla., Glenda Sumpter, of Brian, TX; Kyle Sumpter of Fort Worth, TX; and Nicole Sumpter of Graham, TX; one brother, Cecil Sumpter and wife Bert Sumpter of Woodson, TX; and numerous wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Bell and Zeb Sumpter and Nina; two brothers, Eddie and Zeb Sumpter Jr.; and two sisters, Mary Margaret and Bonnie Sumpter.
